Corey moved to his final home in the beautiful blue sky on Sept. 4, 2008. He was walking home from his girlfriends house when a kid took him from us. This person was drinking (possibly drugs) and not paying attention to his driving when he went off the road, hit my son, dragged him several hundreds of feet before going back on the road and throwing my son through a tree. This kid then continued on his way home, 1 mile down the road, hid his truck behind his parents house and privacy fence and went to bed without stopping or calling anyone. He left my son dying in a ditch until I found him the next morning which of course was too late. This happened 1 month after his birthday and less than 1 mile from home. Due to our wonderful laws, this kid didn’t even get a slap on the wrist because their were no witnesses. He continues to live his happy, free life while still driving (and has been seen drinking while driving)! Someone needs put a stop to these kids who text, drink, do drugs, etc. while driving and not having a care in the world for their actions because they continue to get away with it!!! Corey was about to graduate from High School, he was finally growing up and understanding life as a young adult and planning for his future until someone took all that away from him. Where’s the justice? How many more deaths is it going to take before the laws get changed? Corey’s younger 2 brothers, Nathan and Brandon, miss him so much and we all still can’t believe he’s gone. My life, our life, is not same and it will never be. We love and miss you Corey more than words can express!!!
