Jenny Kay Mattox, was killed July 2, 2011 just 4 days after her 19th birthday. She was a rear passenger in a vehicle being driven by a 16 year old that just got his license. The driver ran off a rural road and struck several trees killing Jenny instantly. The other passenger died also.
Jenny graduated in 2010 from Gretna High School. She had many interests and hobbies in life, especially her 3 year old son, Trent. He was her priority. As a child Jenny loved cheerleading and singing. As she grew, she loved trying new things. She was in the Altavista Marching Band and played softball for the Dixie Youth League for several years. In high school at Gretna, she loved the Job Corps, Spanish and Parenting Classes. At this point in her life she loved camping, canoeing, swimming, dancing, singing and photography. She was always taking pictures, especially her son, Trent. She had him in the 10th grade and continued her classes at school and graduated. She was a very determined person with such a beautiful spirit. Her dreams and goals in life were to get into nursing in the military so her and Trent could have a productive life.
Jenny left a positive impact on so many lives. She cherished her family and friends. She took care of not only her son, but her grandmother. She had lots of experience in caring for others. She leaves behind her son, myself, her father,an older brother and older sister, 3 nieces, 1 nephew, numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and hundreds of friends.
Jenny is always in our hearts and her spirit surrounds us. She lives forever in us, especially her son. She is always missed and we know one day we will see her again.
