Ronnie did a lot in 16yrs. He was in the Air Force JROTC in Las Vegas, NV. He was in the Navy Sea Cadets at Fort Douglas, UT. He was in the Army JROTC at Taylorsville High. And he trained with the Marines. *He was training with the Marines the Sat. he lost his life. He wanted to be a Marine. He was on the Taylorsville, Army JROTC Color Guard and the Exhibition Drill Rifle Team, and on the Marksmanship Rifle team. He had been invited to meet the President and was looking forward to the trip! He loved dogs and taught our dogs several things. He was a patient young man and was always willing to help out, something most teens don't like to do. He had a great sense of humor and was a good friend. He teased his sister, but they were very close. He was very tall, taller than his Grandfathers & his Father too! He loved the outdoors, loved to fish & hunt! He also loved Hot Tamales cinnamon candy! Ronnie loved funny movies & putting models together. He loved pizza & chocolate chip cookies & mint chocolate chip ice cream. and milk. His favorite places to eat were the Outback steak house & Arbys! And just about any place that sold a good pizza!
He was very smart and had even wired his room with an alarm to tell if his sister had been inside! The three of us loved to play jokes on each other, someone was always hiding somewhere! We would have MOVIE DAY where all day long we would take turns picking out movies & that's all we did, oh and eat too, usually a pizza! We liked those days! I cherish the memories I have & all the photos I took, so grateful I took so many!
We always go to his grave on his Birthday ( in the beginning I was able to have a Color Guard & someone to play Taps for every event!) We always tie messages to balloons & let them go, and then we eat pizza, chocolate chip cookies & mint chocolate chip ice cream. We also do this on his Angelversary, the sending messages tied to balloons. And on Christmas Eve we go to his grave light a candle & place white roses, and someone will say a prayer. I try to decorate his grave for every holiday I have so many storage containers for holiday decorations for his grave. I've been doing this since he died in 1998.
